The differences between the Israeli and the Japanese Culture

Last Wednesday we had a very interesting lecture about the differences between the Israeli society and the Japanese one. Our lecturer was an American woman who married a Japanese-American and moved with him to Japan. Six years later they decided to come to Israel.

As someone who knows Japanese, Israeli and American people she knew to tell us the most incredible things, for example, the fact that the Japanese don’t love physical contact which is so popular here in Israel. She told us about the respect for superiors at work, about the professional pushers in the metro and discussed the differences in the body language.

We really enjoyed the lecture because she told us some funny things that had happened during the years when she lived in Japan.

We learned many things about the Japanese but, of course, this was not enough. We really hope that we will have other lectures like this.
