Is Mikey suitable for the naval commando?

Our group focused on one of the main conflicts in the story "The Siren " which is the following:

Should children like Mickey serve in special units in the IDF ?

In our opinion people who want to serve in special units in the IDF need to have the following qualities:

1. Respect for his friends .

To our mind, in spite of Mickey being an excellent student, he needs to have respect for his friends because he stole Sholem's bike and showed derision for his friends .

2. Good ability of judgment (Between good and bad) .

Mickey doesn’t show that he has the ability of making right judgments because he chooses to do things in a bad way.

3. Self-discipline.

A soldier needs to have self-discipline because he has a lot of responsibility when he has to use a gun which is a very dangerous tool.

4. Professionalism.

We don’t think that a boy who took an old man bike is the right man

for jobs where a strong sense of justice and conscience are very important.
