using drugs? Myth and reality concerning drug taking Drug addiction of teenagers: myth or reality? The truth is that adolescence is not easy period
of human life, because young person is experiencing sudden body’s changes,
accompanied by mood changes and feeling of insecurity; he seeks to find out
who is he and tries to adapt. According popular stereotypes, teenagers are
rebel and prone to danger, sometimes even to self-destruction, and influence
of peers is very important for them. It is not surprising that during this
period lots of young people try alcohol, tobacco and other drugs. For
example, according to results of one American survey, the average age at
which teens start using tobacco is a little past 12 years old; the average
age at which they start drinking alcohol is almost 13; and the average age at
which they start smoking marijuana is 14. Although the majority of young
people do not use these substances, some children are using at even younger
